The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose is intense and initially expresses pronounced meaty and smoky notes, which develop towards notes of sweet spices and dried herbs after aeration. We find in particular the aromas of fresh nutmeg, liquorice, clove, ground cumin, white pepper, dried peppermint, fresh rosemary, bay leaf and a very discreet touch of eucalyptus in the background, associated with gourmand fruity notes of red cherry jam, ripe morello cherry, wild strawberry, raspberry coulis, redcurrant jelly and crushed blackcurrant, as well as elegant notes of lily, rose, violet and with a hint of fresh hazelnut in the background. The palate offers precision, concentration, a firm tannic structure, good bitterness (in the flavors of coffee and cranberries) and a lively acidity. It expresses notes of crushed blackcurrant, morello cherry, tangy bigarreau cherry, cherry jam, cranberries, wild plum, combined with flavors of dried mint, fresh nutmeg, liquorice, white pepper, leaf of bay leaf, fresh rosemary and a touch of balsamic in the background. The finish is persistent, tight and tangy. A firm and well-built wine.
