Carlo Revello & Figli 2021 – Barolo

The wine has a pale ruby color with slight garnet reflections. The nose offers tension, freshness, a tanginess of red berries, as well as a certain roundness and gourmandise. It expresses notes of ripe morello cherry, with a touch of dried morello cherry, juicy red cherry, a hint of redcurrant jelly, which are complemented by herbal, roasted, spicy and toasted notes after aeration. We find in particular aromas of roasted raspberry, liquorice, white pepper, toasted almond, as well as a touch of bitter cocoa, violet and dried rose in the background. The palate is tight, even closed, with a racy minerality on the attack, a sharp tangy frame and powdery, grippy and slightly bitter tannins, but well structured. It expresses the tangy flavors of bigarreau cherry, raspberry, morello cherry, cranberries, associated with notes of toasted almond, dried rose, bitter cocoa and dried tea. The finish is moderately persistent, tangy, with a good bitterness of cranberries. A structured and firm wine.
