Carillon d’Angélus 2021 – Saint-Emilion

Carillon d’Angélus 2021 – Saint-Emilion

(80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc) The nose is aromatic, gourmand and offers spices as well as a certain small concentration. There are notes of fleshy blackberry, violet and small notes of morello cherry associated with fine hints of sweet blond tobacco as well as a subtle hint of vanilla and cardamom. The palate is nicely mineral, well-balanced and offers straightness, tension, a certain precision, gourmandise, a velvety/powdery fine grain as well as a certain brightness of the fruit. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy/pulpy blackcurrant, fleshy/juicy blackberry and small notes of fresh/acidulous raspberry associated with a touch of fresh/crunchy small fruits, discreet salty/iodine hints as well as fine hints of nutmeg and toast. A fine chew and a beautiful toasted finish/persistence. A discreet hint of chocolate on the finish.
