The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose is savoury, spicy and gourmand. It expresses the distinct, but integrated notes of sweet spices (coriander seeds, cumin, nutmeg, cloves, liquorice), chocolate with mint, fresh tobacco, a touch of undergrowth and wilted flowers, dried flowers (rose, violet), as well as a ripe fruitiness (wild strawberry, morello cherry, crushed blackcurrant, raspberry coulis, red cherry jam, black plum, a touch of prunes), as well as a touch of toasted bitter almond, cocoa and crème de cassis. The palate is full, fleshy and generous. The attack offers notes of morello cherry in chocolate, red cherry jam, crushed wild strawberry, wild blackberry, prune cream, blackcurrant cream, very ripe fresh morello cherry and raspberry coulis, combined with notes of dark chocolate, liquorice, toasted vanilla, cinnamon, cloves, cumin, fresh tobacco, as well as touches of dried herbs (peppermint, basil, thyme, rosemary) and dried flowers (rose, violet, peony). The finish is gourmand, chocolatey and persistent. The tannins are powerful, but melted and refined. Good acidity and great aging potential.
