The wine has a medium-intensity ruby color. The nose is roasted and spicy at first. It expresses notes of roasted red cherry, roasted bouquet garni, liquorice, crushed cardamom, nutmeg, and white pepper. Then, notes of toasted wood with a hint of sap, coffee, dried wild mint, and tangy fruits (cranberries, red cherry, morello cherry, blueberry, blackcurrant) emerge. After aeration, there is also a gourmand touch of chocolate morello cherry, as well as a light tertiary hint of tobacco, dried rose, and wet leaves in the background. The palate is chiseled and tangy, with a fruity and fresh attack. It expresses notes of cranberries, red cherry, raspberry, crisp strawberry, morello cherry, combined with spicy (crushed cardamom, black pepper, vanilla, liquorice), toasted (coffee, cocoa bean), herbaceous (dried mint, bergamot tea) and tertiary (tobacco, dried rose) notes. The tannins are solid, but fine, slightly bitter. Good length on the integrated tertiary notes and a bitter touch of coffee. Beautiful, refreshing acidity. Tension and complexity.
