The wine has a pale ruby color. The nose is precise, fresh and tangy, with distinct aromas of red fruits, as well as a lively herbaceous hint. It first expresses notes of red cherry, cranberries, raspberry and crunchy strawberry, associated with touches of dried mint, black tea and tobacco. Aeration reveals the racy minerality (limestone, dry stone), as well as a spiciness (gray pepper, nutmeg, liquorice) and torrefaction (coffee, cocoa). The palate offers a gourmet and enveloping attack, on juicy fruits (morello cherry, crushed raspberry, wild strawberry, a hint of blackcurrant), a smoky touch, as well as a slightly bitter hint of coffee. Then, we find the flavors of toasted hazelnut, dried blackcurrant, dried wild flowers, sweet spices (liquorice, nutmeg, white pepper) and a mineral framework on the persistence. The tannins are enveloping, fine and soft, while remaining quite solid. Good length with a fresh acidity and a pleasant touch of cocoa.
