The nose is fresh, pulpy, powerful with a fine stretch. There are notes of pulpy/crunchy blackcurrant, purple plum and more lightly redcurrant combined with fine hints of Madagascar pepper and discreet hints of liquorice, an imperceptible hint of local dry forest floor (sense of place). The palate is fruity, juicy, acidic and well defined. On the palate this wine expresses juicy/acidic blackcurrant, violet plum and more lightly redcurrant notes as well as fine points of violet, fine points of racy, almost iodine-like minerality and a subtle hint of star anise and salinity, a fine powdery edge to the finish. The tannins are racy. Good length.
