The nose is refined, aromatic and fruity. It expresses notes of fresh morello cherry, morello cherry in chocolate, wild strawberry, cherry jam in the background, raspberry coulis, chocolate with mint, as well as a distinct spiciness (vanilla in the background, liquorice, hint of cardamom, nutmeg), associated with aromas of iris, peony, sweet tobacco, fresh aromatic herbs (thyme, thyme flower, fresh rosemary), cocoa, coffee with milk in the background and fresh hazelnut. The palate offers structure, straightness, tension and certain firmness, a good bitterness of bird cherry. It expresses gourmet fruity notes with more acidity than on the nose (fresh morello cherry, tangy strawberry, red cherry jam in the background, crushed raspberry), a refined spiciness (cardamom, white pepper, a hint of liquorice), as well as touches of café au lait, hazelnut, a hint of cocoa, roasted herbs (bouquet garni) and a floral hint (cornflower, lilac). A good persistence, tension and straightness in this tight, tangy, but enveloped and juicy. The tannins are a bit grainy and grippy, but can soften with time.
