Camille Giroud Mercurey 2021 – Mercurey

The wine has a pale lemon yellow color. The nose expresses a perceptible, but integrated woody aromas, as well as a fragrant floral bouquet. On the first nose, we find in particular the aromas of fresh wood (but delicate and not dominant), vanilla, a touch of fresh hazelnut, linden blossom and chamomile. On the second nose, fruity notes appear – citrus (lemon, lemon zest), crunchy stone fruits (tangy apricot, white peach) and green pear, accompanied by a very fine touch of nutmeg . The palate offers precision, sapidity and liveliness. On the attack, we find chiseled notes of lemon, lime and green apple (even a slight lively and pleasant herbaceous hint). In the mid-palate, there are tangy stone fruits (apricot, white peach), a spicy and woody touch (vanilla, fresh hazelnut), as well as an elegant floral touch (lime blossom, chamomile). The finish is persistent, energetic and chiselled, with salivating acidity. It expresses a good bitterness of lime, a toasted hint, as well as a racy minerality (limestone), a little drying. A straight and dynamic wine.
