Camille Giroud Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru 2021 – Corton-Charlemagne

Camille Giroud Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru 2021 – Corton-Charlemagne

The wine has a lemon yellow color of medium intensity. The nose is deep, dense and complex, but reserved at first. After aeration, it first expresses the integrated and controlled woodiness (the aromas of fresh wood, toasted hazelnut, toasted almond), delicate touches of vanilla and brioche, as well as fleshy fruits (yellow peach, ripe apricot). After aeration, the wine expresses the freshness of citrus fruits (yellow lemon, lemon zest, lime zest, grapefruit) and green apple, as well as a fine floral (hawthorn, acacia, lime blossom) and honeyed bouquet. The palate is savory and expressive. The attack offers vanilla roundness, as well as perceptible woody notes (fresh wood, toasted wood, toasted hazelnut, fresh almond), as well as the liveliness and chiseled flavours of citrus fruits (yellow lemon zest, grapefruit, juice of lime). The mid-palate offers roundness of stone fruit (white peach, tangy apricot), a touch of green apple, a fine vanilla and floral note (linden, chamomile). The finish is straight, very savoury and expressive, tangy, with woody notes (fresh wood, toasted hazelnut) which reappear on the persistence. A complex wine, well structured and very young for the moment. Keep for several years.
