Camille Giroud 2020 – Vosne-Romanée Les Chalandins

The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose offers the richness of ripe fruit and the elegance of fresh flowers. It reveals complex and expressive aromas of juicy red and black fruits (wild strawberries, blueberries, Garriguette strawberries, fresh Morello cherries) with a fresh touch of sour cherries and a very delicate note of blackcurrant in the background. Rounder and sweeter notes (raspberry coulis, wild strawberry jam) bring sweetness to the bouquet and enrich it without weighing it down. On the second nose, there are floral notes (peony, blueberry, a hint of cherry blossom) as well as a delicate spiciness (white pepper, liquorice, clove) and a fine minerality (graphite, pencil). On the palate, the wine is open and accessible, with expressive and fruity flavors. There are juicy and tangy notes of wild strawberry, raspberry, red currant, Bigarreau cherry, blueberry as well as elegant floral touches (cornflower, fresh rose petal) and very delicate and integrated spicy and toasted notes (touches of clove, white pepper and a very fine note of torrefaction). The tannins are enveloping, velvety, with a fine grain and the finish is long, fruity and juicy, with a pleasant acidity. A wine with depth, complexity and freshness, very pleasant and gourmand.
