The wine has a pale ruby color. The nose is aromatic and complex. On the first nose, it expresses notes of leather, which become more discreet thereafter. There are lots of ripe red fruits (wood strawberry, red cherry, raspberry, blueberry, blackberry, blue fig, red currant), complemented by refined floral touches of cornflower, lily, wildflowers, as well as delicate spicy (cloves, nutmeg, liquorice, white pepper) and herbaceous (dried mint) hints. On the palate, the wine shows a firm structure, enveloped by a beautiful concentration of fruit and substance on the palate. The tannins are fine, a bit grippy, but softened by a rich, ripe and fresh fruity bouquet. It reveals flavors of wild strawberry, Morello cherry, Bigarreau cherry, blackberry and blueberry, with savoury, spicy (licorice, nutmeg, clove), herbaceous (dried mint, sage) and slightly meaty hints. The finish is long, warming, with lots of fruits and sweet spices, balanced by a nice acidity.
