Cain Five 2009 Spring Mountain District – Napa Valley

Cain Five 2009 Spring Mountain District – Napa Valley

The nose is elegant, racy, precise, frank and fresh and offers complexity and a multi-layered side. It reveals notes of star anise, crushed strawberry and small notes of small brilliant wild fruits, associated with hints of small blue fruits, Timut pepper, as well as a hint of sense of the place, fresh tobacco and a subtle, smoky hint. The palate is well-built, supple, fresh and airy and offers salinity and gourmandise. In mouth this wine expresses notes of juicy/pulpy blackberry, brilliant raspberry and small notes of salinity, associated with touches of tobacco, small quite ripe red fruits, as well as fine hints of a sense of the place and a hint of salinity. Good length. Tannins are mellow, saline and gourmand. Subtle firmness in the background. A hint of darkness and fine roasting in the background. Good persistence.
