Caiarossa Aria di Caiarossa 2020 – Toscana

The nose is fragrant, well-defined and complex. It expresses pure and fresh notes of menthol, eucalyptus and peppermint, combined with spiciness (liquorice, grated nutmeg, gray pepper), aromatic herbs (fresh thyme, bay leaf), violet and rose petals (in the background) as well as a subtle mineral touch of graphite. There are also concentrated and juicy fruity notes of red cherry, morello cherry, wild strawberry, raspberry, redcurrant, blueberry and blackcurrant in the background. On the palate, the wine is expressive, savoury and offers a juicy and gourmand attack, with notes of crunchy fruit (red cherry, red currant, strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, blackcurrant and wild blackberry in the background), combined with elegant floral notes (violet, fresh cornflower), a subtle spicy and herbaceous hints (liquorice, juniper berry, rosemary, fresh bay leaf). The tannins are young, dry and give the wine a chiseled and firm structure, envelopped in fruity texture and crisp acidity. Nice length on the tangy red fruits accompanied by fine touches of torrefaction (toast, sweet coffee). A precise and refined wine, with beautiful energy, which will develop in a few years.
