The nose is fruity, tangy, perfumed and offers a certain purity and gourmandize. There are notes of pulpy wild blackcurrant, bigarreau cherry and more lightly of Madagascar pepper combined with fine hints of sense of place as well as discreet hints of black olive, star anise and almost a very discreet hint of blood orange/orange peel. The palate is fruity, juicy, mineral, acidic, energetic, vibrant, elegant, racy and pure, with a nice acidic backbone. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy/full bodied wild blackcurrant, juicy/acidic boysenberry and more lightly bigarreau cherry combined with hints of wild strawberry as well as fine hints of star anise, local garrigue, black olive, sense of place and fine hints of salinity in the background, nice liquorice persistence in the background. Good length.
