Brezza Barolo Sarmassa 2020 – Barolo

(organic) The wine has a pale ruby color with very slight garnet reflections. The first nose expresses fine notes of sweet spices and torrefaction. We find in particular the aromas of white pepper, nutmeg, licorice, toasted hazelnut and coffee in the background. On the second nose, the wine expresses a fragrant floral bouquet (rose, lilac, a touch of violet), associated with herbaceous touches (dried mint, dry pine needles, fresh tobacco) and a gourmand fruity substance (griotte, crushed black plum), wild strawberry, raspberry, a hint of blueberry). On the palate, the wine is juicy, with a certain volume and a powdery texture, but with finesse. It expresses notes of ripe morello cherry, crushed wild blackberry, wild strawberry, raspberry, combined with gourmet notes of chocolate cherry, plum cream (in the background), sweet spices (liquorice, nutmeg, ground cumin), torrefaction (coffee, toasted hazelnut) and flowers (dried rose, lilac). Beautiful acidity, the tannins are silky and enveloping. The finish is persistent, with a tight tannic structure, but with a velvety texture and enveloped by a concentrated fruitiness.
