Brezza Barolo Castellero 2020 – Barolo

(organic) The wine has a pale ruby color. The first nose is delicately spicy and woody. It expresses notes of nutmeg, liquorice, crushed coriander seeds (in the background), combined with touches of sweet coffee and toasted hazelnut in the background. On the second nose, we find aromas of fresh fruit (red cherry, red plum, raspberry, crushed blueberry, crunchy strawberry), as well as fine herbaceous (peppermint, tobacco) and floral (lily, rose) notes. The attack on the palate is fruity and gourmand, followed by a mid-palate, which expresses a slight bitterness and tight tannins. We find the flavors of bigarreau cherry, fresh and dried raspberry, red plum, crushed blueberry and dried blackcurrant, combined with notes of dried mint, blackcurrant leaf and dried rose in the background. The finish is quite persistent, juicy and enveloping, while remaining fresh. Beautiful acidity, which balances the slightly tight tannic structure on the finish.
