Breaux Vineyards – Six Degrees 2019, Cellar Selection – Virginia

The nose is velvety, spicy, gourmand, peppery and offers a nice powerful touch, delicate and precise at the same time. A discreet powdery side. We find notes of violet, saffron and small notes of purple plum associated with fine hints of crushed/jammed small fruits as well as discreet hints of Sichuan pepper, zan , black tea and fresh nutmeg. The palate is nicely built, fruity and offers juiciness, gourmandise, a tangy frame, tension, suavity, precision, a good structure, unctuosity in freshness, a nice energy as well as concentration. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy/ripe wild cassis, concentrated blackberry and small notes of concentrated violet plum associated with touches of crushed/quite ripe small red fruits, a hint of roasted-juicy fruits, toast, salinity as well as a subtle hint of toasted hazelnut and crushed almond. Good length. Nice juiciness, roundness and suppleness. A discreet powdery sensation. A beautiful sapid persistence.
