Breaux Vineyards – 2019, Meritage – Virginia

The nose is fruity, spicy and offers concentration, a certain delicacy, a fine airy side, deepness as well as a framed/controlled side. There are notes of wild blackberry, black berries and small notes of pepper associated with touches of local dry soil (terroir), cocoa as well as a hint of small bright red fruits and graphene. The palate is beautifully built, fruity and offers a mineral frame, freshness, tension, a small fat, roundness, suppleness, concentration as well as brightness (of the fruit). A certain unctuosity in juiciness and freshness. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy blackberry, quite ripe blackcurrant and small notes of concentrated blueberry associated with touches of crushed small red fruits, hints of plum blossom, cocoa, zan as well as a hint of cranberry and Sichuan pepper. Good work on the good bitterness. A roasting hint.
