The wine has a medium-intensity ruby color with garnet highlights. The nose is delicate, yet aromatic, savory, spicy, and toasty at the opening. It initially expresses subtle, enveloped tertiary notes of tobacco, undergrowth, dry leaves, dry pine needles, and faded rose in the background, harmoniously combined with sweet spices (liquorice, cardamom, star anise, white pepper), as well as toasted almond and cocoa. After aeration, notes of wild mint, bay leaf, and roasted bouquet garni are revealed, along with smoke, roasted red cherry, crushed morello cherry, raspberry, crushed blackcurrant, and wild strawberry. The palate offers freshness and a straight, precise structure—a lively acidulous frame and well-built, powdery tannins that are firm yet soft. The attack is fruity, juicy, slightly macerated and jammy – with notes of macerated morello cherry, crushed wild strawberry and raspberry parcels. On the mid-palate, the profile is completed by herbaceous (dried mint, bouquet garni), spicy (liquorice, cardamom, white pepper, vanilla in the background), chocolatey (cocoa) and toasted (toasted almond, coffee, toasted wood) notes, with a tertiary touch of undergrowth, dried tobacco, dried pine needles and dried rose. The finish brings a beautiful fresh and tangy fruity substance (red cherry, crushed raspberry). Good acidity and a good length. A precise, well-evolved and refined wine.
