The wine has a medium intensity ruby color with slight garnet reflections. The nose is concentrated, complex and juicy, with distinct notes of dried and macerated fruits (macerated red cherry, prunes in alcohol). It expresses the aromas of very ripe morello cherry, crushed wild strawberry, raspberry coulis, candied blackcurrant (or crème de cassis), crushed blueberry, as well as chocolate morello cherry, dark chocolate with mint, tangy hint of cocoa beans, integrated notes of sweet spices (licorice with a touch of star anise, nutmeg, crushed coriander seeds), fine tertiary touches (dry tobacco, wilted flowers – rose, lilac), herbaceous notes (fresh basil, wild mint), and nuances of tapenade and balsamic. The mouth is melted and silky. It offers a controlled power of tannins (velvety and fine, but drying), sapid and powdery, with pleasant notes of bitter cocoa. We also find distinct notes of macerated fruit (cherry in kirsch, prunes in alcohol), crushed strawberry, raspberry coulis, crushed blackcurrant with a touch of crème de cassis), blueberry and roasted red cherry and morello cherry, associated with light stertiary notes of dry tobacco, cedar and undergrowth, with notes of sweet spices (licorice, a hint of star anise, nutmeg) and dried flowers (rose, lilac) and dried herbs ( mint). A lingering, tannic and tight finish is balanced by salivating acidity, concentrated fruitiness and sweet notes of chocolate cherry.
