Borges – Soalheira 2012 – Vintage Port

The nose is powerful, concentrated and offers a slight gourmandise. It reveals notes of sherry and cassis cream associated with slight hints of spices as well as subtle/discreet hints of Sichuan pepper. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, suave, nicely-built, suave, round, nicely-defined and offers gourmandise, tension, a good density as well as a slight freshness. In the mouth this wine expresses notes of crushed boysenberry, sherry and slight notes of cassis cream associated with a hint of purple plum jam as well as slight hints of spices, chocolate, caramelization and a very discreet hint of Bourbon vanilla (in the background). Good length. There is a very discreet hint of coffee on the persistence. A well-built Porto!
