Bluemont – Merlot 2021 – Virginia

The nose is fruity and offers a fine concentration, deepness as well as a certain small concentration. It reveals notes of crushed cassis, crushed blackberry and small notes of candied small red fruits associated with touches of violet, sweet blond tobacco as well as a discreet hint of nutmeg and a very discreet hint of sense of place (local biotope). The palate is nicely juicy, fruity, well-balanced and offers a tangy frame, freshness, tension, suavity, suppleness as well as a certain delicacy in its fruit. Beautiful freshness and definition, full of control. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy/pulpy cassis, juicy/fleshy small black fruits and small notes of roasted-juicy raspberry associated with a touch of black cherry, fine hints of cornflowers, blond tobacco as well as an almost sappy hint and ripe almond. Sapidity/gourmandize on the finish.
