The wine has a medium-intensity ruby color, with slight garnet reflections. The nose is reserved, but offers a complex and concentrated perfume, which opens up after aeration. It first expresses delicate tertiary notes (tobacco, a hint of undergrowth and wet leaves), as well as balsamic and a mineral touch (dry stone, tar). Then, we find herbaceous notes (dried mint, dried laurel, dried tobacco), associated with a delicate floral bouquet (dried rose, dried cornflower, a hint of fresh lilac). The fruity aromas are pleasant and fresh (red cherry, blackcurrant, red plum, morello cherry, blackberry), with a subtle touch of prunes, roasted strawberry and dried red cherry. The toasted and spicy notes are subtle and appear after aeration (toasted hazelnut, toasted wood, a hint of dark chocolate, liquorice and crushed black pepper). The palate is tasty and expressive, with an attack on a distinct tertiary side (dried tobacco, undergrowth, even mushrooms). Then, we find the fruity material (fresh morello cherry, fresh red cherry, dried red cherry, dried cranberries, blackcurrant, prunes and roasted strawberry in the background), associated with a spicy and toasted side (liquorice, black pepper, cardamom, coffee, toasted almond, cocoa), as well as dried black tea and dried rose. The finish is persistent, on the tertiary notes of undergrowth and wet leaves. Good level of acidity, the tannins are solid, firm, even dry, but rather integrated.
