Bersano – Generala 2018, Riserva – Nizza DOCG

The nose is fresh, fruity and offers a nice crunchiness/purity of fruit and a fine creaminess (in the background). There are notes of crushed cherry, crunchy blackcurrant and more slightly dark chocolate combined with fine touches of crunchy blue berries, blueberry, star anise and a discreet hint of pepper. The palate is nicely fresh, mineral, balanced and offers a tangy frame, purity, gourmandise and a nice energy. On the palate this wine expresses notes of crushed redcurrant, crunchy/sour cherry and more slightly crushed blackberry combined with a touch of tart blueberry and hints of tonka bean/black chocolate, vanilla and a subtle hint of star anise. The tannins are elegant and supple. Good work on the bitter taste (discreet, in the background). Nice persistence.
