The wine has a pale ruby color with slight garnet reflections. The nose is subtle, refined and complex. It initially expresses aromas of tobacco, fallen leaves and undergrowth in the background, as well as dried rose and tar. After aeration, we find aromas of fresh and dried fruits (dried cherry, strawberry, fresh red cherry, raspberry), as well as herbs (dried mint, bay leaf), sweet spices (nutmeg, liquorice, white pepper, cardamom) and roasting (toasted hazelnut, smoke, toasted wood, coffee). The palate is straightforward, lively and tangy. The attack expresses notes of cranberries, tart red cherry, raspberry and red currants, combined with slightly bitter notes of grapefruit, coffee and cocoa. There are also sweet spices (liquorice, nutmeg, a hint of vanilla), toast (toasted almond, smoke), dried herbs (dried bouquet garni, dried mint), dried rose, as well as a mineral hint of tar and earth. Tannins are tight, but polished and fine, wrapped in a salivating acidity and tangy fruit. The finish is sapid, refined and persistent, with a light tertiary touch of tobacco in the background, complemented by cocoa and tangy red cherry.
