Bela Luz, Inspired by Rocim 2022 – Douro

The wine has a deep ruby color. The nose offers accuracy, density and depth, a pronounced spiciness, as well as an elegant floral bouquet. It expresses notes of liquorice, black pepper, toasted vanilla, combined with a fresh touch of fresh bay leaf, wild mint (in the background), cut rosemary, lily and dried rose, as well as a fine hint of roasting and bitterness (coffee, toasted almond), complemented by a textured touch of dark chocolate. The fruits on the nose are dense, juicy and ripe: we find notes of wild blackberry, crushed blackcurrant, wild strawberry, cranberry jam, juicy morello cherry and red cherry jam, which envelop the woody and spicy character of the wine. The palate is generous, rich and dense, with a firm and powerful tannin structure, but with a fine grain and in balance with the rich fruity substance. We find notes of fresh black plum, dark chocolate plum, juicy morello cherry, chocolate cherry, wild strawberry, crushed raspberry, cranberry jam, associated with the indulgence of dark chocolate, with a gourmand spiciness (liquorice, toasted vanilla, cinnamon in the background, cloves, nutmeg), with a hint of freshness in herbaceous and floral notes (wild mint, fresh bay leaf, fresh bouquet garni, dried rose) and a fine side roasting. The finish is very long, full, gourmand, with lots of flavors, the gourmandise of dark chocolate, a pronounced spiciness (cloves, vanilla) and a nice acidity. A warming wine, rich, generous and fresh.
