Bava Pianoalto 2019 – Nizza

Bava Pianoalto 2019 – Nizza

The wine has a medium-intensity ruby color, with slight garnet reflections. The first nose is reserved and expresses delicate tertiary aromas of damp leaves, undergrowth in the background and tobacco. Then, we find sweet touches of dark chocolate, chocolate morello cherry, caramelized almond, associated with fruity notes of ripe morello cherry, dried red cherry, dried blackcurrant, crushed strawberry, raspberry coulis and bird cherry. We also find notes of dried rose, dried thyme, bay leaf, bitter cocoa, as well as a touch of smoke, liquorice and white pepper in the background and a delicate graphite minerality. The palate is greedy, lively and juicy, with firm, tight and slightly grainy tannins. It expresses the tangy flavors of red cherry, bird cherry, blackcurrant, morello cherry, tangy raspberry and tangy black plum, combined with spicy hints (licorice, nutmeg, white pepper), herbs (dried mint, menthol, tobacco, thyme) and roasted notes (a hint of toasted almond and coffee). The finish is sapid, juicy, finely tight, with a good bitterness of bird cherry and grapefruit, as well as a lively salivating acidity. Beautiful freshness, fruit, juiciness and concentration, which balances the tight tannins.
