Basile – Cartacanta 2021 – Montecucco Sangiovese DOCG

The nose is racy, a bit discreet and offers a fine grain as well as a fine velvety. It reveals notes of spices, blackberry and small notes of dry local grove associated with fine hints of gray pepper. The palate is fruity, fresh, mineral, well-balanced, supple and offers a certain pulpiness, breadth, gourmandize as well as purity in its fruit. On the palate this wine expresses notes of blueberry, blackcurrant and small notes of fresh/juicy wild cherry associated with touches of iris, olive tree as well as fine hints of dry local grove, a subtle hint of spices, tonka bean and toasted almond. Tannins are mellow and gourmand/savory. A certain chewiness on the finish.
