Barboursville Vineyard – Vermentino 2022 – Virginia

Beautiful, gourmet and precise nose that offers a fine incisive side. It reveals notes of flat peach, white flowers and small notes of crushed nectarine associated with fine touches of acacia, verbena, small green/crunchy fruits and delicate floral hints. An imperceptible hint of wild dill in the background. The palate is nicely built, well-balanced and offers a tangy frame, gourmandise, suavity, a certain finesse as well as a certain energy. On the palate this wine expresses notes of quenette, vine peach and small notes of quince associated with touches of juicy/acidulous mirabelle plum as well as fine hints of apple blossom and discreet almost lees hints. Good length.
