Barboursville Vineyard – Cabernet Franc 2022 – Virginia

The nose is fruity, juicy, fresh and offers intensity as well as a fine concentration. It reveals notes of morello cherry, pulpy blackberry and small notes of bright blue plum associated with touches of lily, star anise and a subtle almost infusion hint. The palate is fruity and offers juiciness, acidity, gourmandize, a tangy frame as well as brilliance. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy/pulpy black cherry, bright/pulpy redcurrants and small notes of bright small blue fruits /blueberry associated with touches of cornflower, a fine hint of raspberry as well as fine hints of tonka bean and toast. Good length. Gourmandize ! A lovely bright and almost very discreetly roasted fruit. A subtle sappy hint in the background. Tannins are sapid.
