Baglio del Cristo di Campobello – Lu Patri 2016 – DOC Sicilia

The nose is fresh, beautifully mineral and offers a small intensity/concentration, a fine grain as well as a very fine power. It reveals notes of ripe wild blackberry, ripe small black fruits associated with fine touches of liquorice stick, tonka bean, hints of fleshy blackberry, a fine hints of balsamic, sense of the place as well as a very discreet hint of cardamom, violet, pepper (in the background) and sugared mild tobacco. The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers an acidulous/juicy frame, a beautiful precision, a beautiful definition, gourmandize, minerality as well as a beautiful ripe/juicy fruit. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy/juicy cassis, juicy/fleshy black cherry and small notes of red fruits (raspberry, strawberry) associated with fine touches of chocolate, liquorice, sugared mild tobacco, balsamic, sense of the place/dry local vegetation as well as a very discreet hint of ripe almond. Tannins are structuring, fine and elegant. Good length. There is a very discreet hint of fresh hazelnut on the persistence.
