The nose is slightly restrained, more earthy than fruity, and will benefit from decanting. The palate reveals refreshing acidity which balances well with the powerful body and high alcohol. The tannins are silky but bold. Despite being opulent the wine remains elegant and full of finesse with notes of dark chocolate, prunes, violets, and a spicy touch on the finish.
