The wine has a pale ruby color. The nose offers a ripe and concentrated fruitiness, even a powdery texture. It first expresses the aromas of dried strawberry, sour red cherry, ripe morello cherry, raspberry and blueberry in the background, associated with a slight hint of tar and sap, a racy minerality (limestone), a floral bouquet (fresh rose, peony, violet), a fine herbaceous and woody side of rose stem and leaf, associated with touches of nutmeg, liquorice, dried peppermint and fresh hazelnut. The palate is straight and chiseled, but at the same time enveloping and fruity. On the attack, we first feel the notes of dried red cherry, morello cherry, sour strawberry, bigarreau cherry and cranberries, which are then complemented by touches of dried rose, peony, dried mint. Then, we feel a slightly drying limestone minerality, complemented by notes of tar, as well as herbaceous and woody touches (rose stem, blackcurrant leaf, fresh hazelnut). Tannins are firm, with a fine texture, but dry, and grippy. A salivating acidity and a fresh and tangy fruity material help to balance the dry side of Tannins. A fine spicy side of liquorice and nutmeg appears on the persistence. Good length and lots of freshness.
