Armand Heitz Pommard 1er Cru Clos des Poutures Monopole 2022 – Pommard

The wine has a pale ruby color. The nose is reserved and benefits from aeration. It expresses notes of bird cherry, bigarreau cherry, raspberry, wild strawberry (with a slight hint of strawberry jam) and crushed redcurrants, combined with floral touches of violet and cornflower, a fine spiciness (white pepper, nutmeg, a touch of liquorice) and toast, as well as a smoky and mineral hint (graphite) in the background. The palate is airy, fruity and enveloping, with a nice freshness, a tangy frame and a good bitterness. It expresses notes of bigarreau cherry, bird cherry in the background, wild strawberry, crushed raspberry, blueberry and ripe raspberry, combined with floral touches (violet, a hint of rose), spicy (nutmeg, white pepper, liquorice), woody (toasted hazelnut, a hint of smoke and coffee), as well as a mineral frame of graphite, which occurs on the persistence. The tannins are velvety and polished, well constructed. Good persistence on a pleasant bitterness.
