The wine has a pale ruby color. The nose is fruity, quite dense, ripe and slightly roasted. It expresses notes of morello cherry, black plum, wild strawberry, roasted red cherry, redcurrant jelly and crushed raspberry, combined with pleasant herbal notes (dried mint, dried blackcurrant leaf, a hint of dried pine needles) and floral notes (dried rose, violet, peony). There are also savoury spicy notes (liquorice, toasted vanilla, white pepper, nutmeg) and distinct but enveloping woody nuances (fresh wood with a sappy touch, toasted wood, fresh hazelnut, toasted hazelnut, dark chocolate). On the palate, the wine offers juicy and tangy fruit (red cherry, morello cherry, strawberry, raspberry, red currants, cranberries, morello cherry), a good bitterness (coffee, bird cherry), herbal notes (dried mint, blackcurrant leaf, dried pine needles), as well as a hint of toasted hazelnut and fresh wood in the background. The tannins are young, tight and grippy, softened by the salivating acidity. Good persistence on a pleasant bitterness.
