Anthony Girard, Domaine La Clef du Récit 2023 – Sancerre

The wine has a pale lemon yellow color. The nose expresses racy minerality, notes of limestone rock, as well as a touch of iodine in the background. We also find aromas of lemon zest, grapefruit, white peach, apricot and fresh quince, combined with a hint of green plum, apple blossom and acacia. The palate is tasty, lively, tangy and fruity, with a beautiful juiciness of stone fruits (yellow peach, apricot, white nectarine), which balances the tanginess of fresh citrus fruits (lime, yellow lemon, grapefruit), gooseberry and kiwi. We also find a fine minerality (limestone and iodine notes), a floral touch of apple blossom and an herbaceous hint of green beans in the background. A well-structured wine, with a lively and tight tangy structure, a beautiful minerality and lots of freshness. Good persistence in the mouth with a delicate bitterness.
