André Goichot Maranges 2022 – Maranges

André Goichot Maranges 2022 – Maranges

The wine has a pale ruby color. The first nose is savory and spicy: it expresses notes of nutmeg, ground cloves, a touch of white pepper and liquorice stick in the background. On the second nose, the wine offers notes of bigarreau cherry, morello cherry, raspberry, strawberry and red currant, associated with floral aromas of iris, peony, violet, as well as a touch of dried mint in the background. The attack on the palate expresses the pronounced spicy notes and hints of torrefaction  (toasted wood, toasted almond, toasted vanilla, ground clove, ground cumin), enveloped in a juicy and ripe fruitiness (griotte, wild strawberry, raspberry, jelly redcurrants, crushed blueberry, red plum), combined with a minty and floral touch (iris, peony). The tannins are melted, with a fine grain. The finish is gourmand and persistent, with notes of ripe fruit and a pronounced chocolate hint.
