André Goichot Fixin 2023 – Fixin

The wine has a pale ruby color. The nose is aromatic, smoky, toasted and slightly roasted. It expresses notes of roasted red cherry, roasted aromatic herbs, toasted hazelnut, heated wood and smoke, combined with fresh fruit (red cherry, raspberry, tangy strawberry, crushed blackcurrant) and spices (liquorice with a hint of star anise, nutmeg), as well as blackcurrant leaf and dried mint in the background. The palate is generous, savory, with an expressive and fruity attack (we find in particular the flavors of juicy red cherry, morello cherry, crushed raspberry, strawberry and crushed blackcurrant), combined with spicy notes (licorice, nutmeg, a touch of white pepper), herbaceous (blackcurrant leaf in the background, dried mint) and toasted (toasted hazelnut, chocolate, coffee, smoke). Tannins are silky, fine and well-built. The finish is tasty and fruity, with an expressive touch of sweet red cherry and a refreshing acidity, accompanied by a good bitterness.
