Amalia, Cascina in Langa, Bussia, Vigna Fantini 2021 – Barolo

Amalia, Cascina in Langa, Bussia, Vigna Fantini 2021 – Barolo

The wine has a pale ruby color. The initial nose offers distinct floral and herbal notes (faded rose, violet, peony, crushed mint leaf, fresh green tea leaf), complemented by a hint of grapefruit zest. After aeration, it expresses aromas of ripe fruit (crushed red cherry, morello cherry, tart strawberry, blueberry, raspberry), as well as sweet spices (liquorice, cardamom, nutmeg, a hint of white pepper), fresh almond, coffee and toasted hazelnut. On the palate, the wine offers concentration, a beautiful lively tangy frame, and expresses notes of tart cherry, crushed blueberry, morello cherry, red cherry and fresh cherry, associated with a savoury spiciness (nutmeg, liquorice, cardamom, even a hint of vanilla), the delicacy of dark chocolate and cocoa nibs, as well as an airy floral bouquet (dried rose, peony, violet). Tannins are polished, but solid, savoury and cocoa-like. Beautiful salivating acidity that balances the slight dryness of Tannins and a good persistence in the mouth.
