Altea 2022 – Lussac Saint-Émilion

Altea 2022 – Lussac Saint-Émilion

The nose is fruity, with a little contained side. It reveals notes of boysenberry, small fleshy blue fruits, and more particularly fleshy redcurrants, a hint of roasted Mediterranean fruits, associated with touches of infusion, blond tobacco, and a hint of cornflower, with a fine nuance of sweet spices and a very discreet hint of pepper in the background. On the palate, the wine is fruity, fresh, and mineral, with a nice balance. The structure is fresh, with tension, and precise, offering the right acidity and a beautiful verticality. The grain is finely tight, and the wine benefits from being decanted. We find notes of pulpy and juicy blackcurrant, Mediterranean roasted raspberry, combined with touches of small fleshy blue fruits and a subtle nuance of aromatic herbs/infusion. Hints of vanilla and a discreet peppery tone prolong the tasting. Good length, with mellow and fresh tannins. A round, fruity wine, offering a certain breadth and immediate accessibility.
