The nose offers a certain darkness, precision and an elegant austerity. There are notes of boysenberry, fleshy cherry and small notes of violet, associated with touches of small concentrated red fruits, red pepper, maceron, as well as hints of almost incense and tobacco. The palate is nicely juicy, fruity, tangy, fresh and offers gourmandise, a tangy frame, a fine sappy/fresh pine-needle side in the background and a fine iodized/oceanic hint in the background. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of juicy/tangy cassis, juicy/tangy violet plum and small notes of small bright/juicy fruits, combined with fine hints of crushed cherry, as well as fine touches of star anise, tobacco, sense of the place and a very discreet hint of vanilla. A subtle hint of barrel in the background. Mellow tannins. Persistence and gourmandise.
