The small terroir of Clos des Perrières is located within the larger Perrières region; however, it is so high in quality that it deserves its own mention here. Clos des Perrières is a 1 ha monopole of Albert Grivault, a producer known for the raciness of his wines. The 2016 is absolutely floral and perfumed, with a rich fruit maturity and a confit lemon characteristic. Structure, creaminess and minerality reigns. Chardonnay from this terroir is subtler in flavor than wines made in other parts of Perrières and is especially age-worthy.
