The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose is deep, concentrated and complex. It firstly expresses notes of smoke, sweet spices (nutmeg, white pepper, liquorice), a fragrant floral bouquet (lilac, rose, lily, a hint of faded rose in the background), a herbaceous touch (tobacco, wild mint), as well as a hint of balsamic in the background. We then find the fruity aromas of ripe bigarreau cherry, morello cherry, crushed blueberry, raspberry and wild blackberry. The palate offers precision, concentration, as well as an enveloping but fresh fruity side. It expresses the flavors of crushed morello cherry, tangy strawberry, crushed raspberry, blueberry and blackcurrant in the background, combined with herbaceous notes of wild mint, fresh tobacco, blackcurrant leaf (in the background), as well as a floral bouquet (lilac, fresh rose, wilted rose) and a savoury spiciness (nutmeg, liquorice, white pepper). The finish is persistent, juicy and fruity. The tannins are tight, but fine-grained and not drying. Beautiful acidity, lots of freshness. A straight and chiselled wine.
