Alban Roblin, Château La Rabotine, Les Patites Pierres 2022 – Sancerre

The wine has a pale lemon yellow color. The nose offers perceptible spicy and toasted aromas, but enveloped in a fresh and juicy fruitiness. It expresses the aromas of toasted almond, toasted wood (in the background), nutmeg, a subtle hint of saffron, associated with notes of yellow peach, ripe apricot, ripe lemon, peel of candied lemon, gooseberries and passion fruit. We also find notes of linden honey, acacia and chamomile. The mouth is silky, enveloping and complex. The attack is lively, tangy and offers flavors of ripe lemon, grapefruit with good bitterness as well as gooseberries. In the mid-palate, we find notes of tangy apricot, white peach and candied lemon peel. The wine also expresses integrated spicy and toasted notes (notes of nutmeg, saffron, cloves, toasted hazelnut and toasted wood), associated with notes of white flowers (acacia, linden) and honey. The finish is lingering, with lively citrus acidity and a touch of toasted wood in the background.
