Alban Roblin, Château La Rabotine, Les Lots 2022 – Sancerre

The wine has a lemon yellow color of medium intensity. The nose is complex, subtly spicy and toasted. It expresses the aromas of nutmeg, toasted hazelnut, very delicate, almost imperceptible hints of toasted wood and vanilla in the background. After aeration, the wine offers aromas of ripe citrus fruits (lemon, grapefruit, candied lemon peel), passion fruit, juicy apricot and white peach, combined with a floral touch of acacia. We also find a distinguished minerality (limestone and saline notes) and a touch of honey. The palate is juicy, gourmand and fruity. The attack offers a certain roundness in flavors of juicy stone fruits (white peach, tangy apricot), associated in the mid-palate with liveliness and tanginess of citrus fruits (lime, lemon juice, grapefruit), green apple and green plum. The finish is straight, chiselled, with a sharp acidity, a distinguished minerality (a slightly dry calcareous touch) and a fine spicy, floral and toasted hint which appears on the persistence (nutmeg, cloves, acacia, elderflower , toasted hazelnut, fresh hazelnut). A wine with complexity, tension and concentration.
