Domaine du Grand Tinel 2021 – Châteauneuf-du-Pape

Domaine du Grand Tinel 2021 – Châteauneuf-du-Pape

The wine has a lemon yellow color, of medium intensity, with light golden highlights. The first nose is tasty: spicy and grassy. It expresses notes of dried aromatic herbs (dried mint, dried rosemary, oregano in the background), sweet spices (fennel seeds, a hint of licorice, cloves and saffron), which combine with the second nose with notes of honey, beeswax, candied green apple, yellow peach, apricot, candied lime and lemon zest. We also find a fine floral side (apple blossom, acacia, honeysuckle) and toasted side (toasted hazelnut in the background, toasted cumin seeds). The palate offers tension and freshness, as well as a pleasant bitterness of toasted almond and grapefruit. The mid-palate offers complexity and density: it first expresses fresh notes of green apple and lemon juice, which are then completed by the deliciousness of crunchy white peach and a delicate honeyed, toasted note. (toasted, even slightly caramelized hazelnut) and fresh melon. The finish is tense, chiselled, but at the same time deep, sapid and expressive. We find a fine spicy side (fennel seeds, coriander seeds, a hint of nutmeg and licorice), fragrant floral notes (acacia, honeysuckle) and a herbaceous touch (rosemary in syrup, dried mint). Good persistence with good bitterness and a slight tannic side.
