Château Pouget 2020 – Margaux, Grand Cru Classé

Château Pouget 2020 – Margaux, Grand Cru Classé

On the nose, there is power, concentration, control, elegance and finesse. It reveals the notes of wild blackberry, juicy/fresh strawberry and more lightly pulpy small fruits combined with a touch of bright/fresh blue plum, licorice, racy minerality and fine pepper. The palate is fresh, mineral, fruity, balanced and offers a juicy/tangy frame, good definition, a certain gourmandize, a little tension, a little compactness and concentration. The wine express the bright cassis, wild strawberries and more lightly bright/juicy small red currants combined with hints of violets, graphite/racy minerality, fine hints of sweet spices, saffron, licorice as well as a discreet hint of pepper and cardamom/roasted hazelnut. The tannins are mellow. Good length. A certain gourmandize and sapidity on the finish/persistence.
