The new seafood gem in Turin
In the heart of Turin, just a stone’s throw from the hustle and bustle of the city center, in the charming Quadrilatero Romano district, a new and promising gastronomic venture has opened: Maison Capriccioli. This restaurant stands out for its cuisine entirely dedicated to seafood, with a meticulous and sophisticated approach to selecting ingredients, especially lesser-known and underappreciated species.
Opened in October 2024, in the historic Capriccioli location on Via San Domenico, Maison Capriccioli marks a new chapter for Christian Mandura, the chef behind the Michelin-starred Unforgettable, and Andrea Turchi. Their offering is distinguished by the high quality of seafood, treated with modern techniques and harmoniously balanced dishes featuring sharp acidity and umami. There is a deep respect for traditional flavors, and the menu at Maison Capricciolifeatures a selection of dishes that range from entrées and appetizers to main courses, sides, and desserts. The menu also includes two tasting menus with 4 and 6 courses (priced at 70 and 90 euros), allowing diners to experience a wide variety of flavors.
Some of the standout specialties include Tartare of cuttlefish with its sauces, Spinach oyster with beurre blanc, Plin of Gallinella with its broth, Rossini-style turbot, Roast red mullet, Saint Peter’s fish alla mugnaia, and the surprising dessert Chocolate and caviar.
”Maison Capriccioli is a classic place that finds its fullest expression in contemporary elegance and opulence. We want to create a great seafood restaurant in Turin, where the Mediterranean meets France through technique, aesthetics, and taste,” explained Mandura.
For Turchi, seafood cuisine is a passion that must be nourished with dedication, organization, and an in-depth knowledge of the product. Together with Christian, we combine our personal experiences to create a concrete proposal for a great seafood cuisine,” the chef shares.
