Mirabella, the Taste of Tradition and Discovery
On the third weekend of September, wine tastings at the cellar, picnics in the vineyard, and a pink-themed party, while in the vault, senses are educated through playful activities.
From Friday, September 13th to Sunday, September 15th, the Franciacorta Festival returns, attracting thousands of wine enthusiasts touring the wineries of the famous Brescia appellation.
Mirabella, located in Rodengo Saiano, offers a dive into tradition: the highlight of the Festival will be the pairing of Franciacorta Edea – available in three versions: Brut, Satèn Millesimato, and Rosé – with tastings by Chef Giorgio Lovati for Norcineria Polastri Macèlér, a gastronomic institution in Franciacorta.
Brescian-style meat rolls with polenta, or mountain cheese fondue with steamed potatoes, will be served in the lounge along with Franciacorta in Magnum format; those who prefer a picnic can enjoy a specially crafted menu – made with zero-kilometer ingredients, like the previous ones – among the rows of the Pinot Bianco collection vineyard, right behind the winery.
But that’s not all: for the more curious guests, Mirabella offers the Scent Hunt. On Saturday and Sunday, in the private vault where precious bottles rest on their lees, the winemaker will guide small groups in discovering the olfactory notes of the three Franciacorta grape varieties, in a sensory education journey; ending with surprise tastings.
Those who love to party will appreciate the Pink Sunset party on Saturday evening, with tastings of two Franciacorta Rosé – among Mirabella’s most popular products – and a DJ set until midnight.

Mirabella
In 1979, Pavia-based winemaker Teresio Schiavi realized his dream of producing sparkling wine from Pinot Bianco in Franciacorta. After 40 years, this grape variety continues to be a point of pride for this family-run business, where today Alessandro and Alberto Schiavi, both winemakers like their father, work with enthusiasm.
Mirabella owes its name to the locality where the first company vineyard was planted. The winery has 45 hectares of organic vineyards, some of which date back to the early 1980s, uses vintage concrete tanks, practices full malolactic fermentations, and carries out long refermentations in the underground cellar, cooled by an underground stream. The company produces 350,000 bottles a year, divided among Franciacorta Edea, Demetra Brut Nature, and DØM Riserva.
Norcineria Polastri Macèlér
In September, the spotlight is on the Franciacorta Festival, but Norcineria Polastri Macèlér has kept the lights on since 1840.
The Palazzi family, masters of the art of butchery for four generations, produces absolutely genuine cured meats with typical flavors, following ancient rules passed down through the years. In particular, Salame Ret or Mariola: made from only thigh meat, coarsely ground by hand, mixed with aromas, spices, and wine. In their shop, you can find typical products of the area along with other excellences, which can also be tasted accompanied by a selection of Franciacorta labels.
